2. General information
We take the protection of your personal data seriously. This statement informs you about which data we collect, what we use it for and which rights you have. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is authoritative.
The transmission of your data on this website is encrypted via HTTPS.
3. Accessing our website (server log files)
When you visit our website, technical data is collected automatically: IP address, date and time of access, page accessed, amount of data transferred, browser type and operating system as well as the previously visited page.
Purpose: technical operation, security and stability of the website.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure and functioning service).
4. Orders and contract processing
When you place an order with us, we process: first and last name, delivery and billing address, email address, telephone number where applicable, order and payment data.
Purpose: processing of your purchase contract, shipping, invoicing, customer service, handling of returns and guarantee claims.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract) as well as Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (statutory retention obligations).
Without this data we cannot process your order.
5. Recipients of your data
We only pass on your data insofar as this is necessary for the provision of our services. We use the following categories of recipients and service providers:
- Shopify Inc. (Canada/Ireland) – shop system, hosting, order and checkout processing. Processor.
- Payment service providers – the providers selected during checkout process your payment data on their own responsibility. We do not receive any complete card details.
- Shipping and logistics service providers – receive the address and contact details required for delivery.
- Klaviyo Inc. (USA) – sending our emails and our newsletter as well as analysing their use. Processor.
- Loox – collection and display of product reviews.
- Vercel Inc. (USA) – hosting of our shipment tracking page.
We have concluded data processing agreements pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR with all processors.
6. Data transfers to third countries
As we and some of our service providers are established in the United States, your data is transferred to the USA. Under data protection law, the USA is classified as a third country.
The transfer takes place on the basis of standard contractual clauses of the European Commission pursuant to Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR or, where the recipient is certified, on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (adequacy decision pursuant to Art. 45 GDPR).
We point out that, despite these safeguards, access by US authorities cannot be completely ruled out.
7. Newsletter and promotional emails
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we process your email address and, where applicable, your name in order to send you offers and news.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (your consent).
We analyse whether and when our emails are opened and which links are clicked in order to improve our content. This analysis is covered by your consent.
You can withdraw your consent at any time – via the unsubscribe link at the end of every email or by message to contact@altairluggage.com. The withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out up to that point.
8. Product reviews
After a purchase, we may invite you to review the product. Participation is voluntary. Published reviews contain your first name and, where applicable, photos uploaded by you.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).
9. Cookies and similar technologies
We use technically necessary cookies that are required for the operation of the shop – for example for the shopping cart, for logging in and for the security of the checkout. These cannot be deselected.
Legal basis: § 25(2) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
We only use cookies and technologies that are not strictly necessary (in particular for analysis and marketing purposes) with your consent pursuant to § 25(1) TDDDG. You can adjust your settings at any time on the page Your Privacy Settings.
You can additionally delete or block cookies in the settings of your browser. This may limit the range of functions of the website.
10. Storage period
We store your data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes stated.
- Order and invoice data: in accordance with the statutory retention periods (as a rule six or ten years).
- Newsletter data: until you withdraw your consent.
- Server log files: as a rule no longer than 30 days.
11. Your rights
You have the right at any time to:
- access to the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)

Right to lodge a complaint: You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU Member State of your place of residence (Art. 77 GDPR).
12. Objection to direct marketing
You may object at any time to the processing of your data for the purpose of direct marketing. We will then no longer process your data for these purposes.
13. Changes to this privacy policy
We adapt this statement when our services or the legal requirements change. The version published on this page applies in each case.
